What's On News A Welcome award for the museum On Tuesday 22 October, members of our Front of House team were delighted to attend a celebratory lunch at the British Motor Museum in Warwickshire to accept our VisitEngland Welcome Accolade 2023-24! Accolades were awarded to 72 English attractions covering all aspects of what makes an outstanding visitor experience. The accolades (‘Welcome’, ‘Quality Food and Drink’, ‘Hidden Gem’, ‘Best Told Story’ and ‘Gold’) are awarded based on scores that attractions obtained following their annual VisitEngland Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme assessment. VisitEngland Director Andrew Stokes said: “These accolades highlight the wonderful visitor experiences provided by English attractions, from the warmest of welcomes to amazing food and drink, from great storytelling to outstanding customer service. Our tourism businesses are the bedrock of our industry and it is wonderful to highlight and celebrate the fantastic service and experiences they give visitors, time-after-time. From museums, gardens and nature reserves to farm attractions, estates and theme parks, these attractions go out of their way to make visits memorable.” Over the years, we have proudly received a number of VisitEngland accolades, including the Hidden Gem four times since 2018 and the Gold for 2022-23. This was a testament to our commitment to providing an excellent visitor experience and the high standards we have built up. Though this year we were nominated for another Gold accolade, owing to another high scoring assessment, the VisitEngland team rightly decided to recognise the exceptional work of our Front of House team with the Welcome Accolade. Our Front of House Manager, Claire Harris and one of our Front of House Assistants, Fiona Seeman, attended the celebratory lunch and were presented with the award. We are proud that this award demonstrates the incredible job our Front of House team do every day. Whether it’s greeting you at the door, answering questions in person or on the phone, directing enquiries or offering additional information, our Reception staff and volunteers are always on hand to make sure you have the best experience. Front of House Manager, Claire Harris said: “I am very proud of my team and all the hard work they do to make very visitor feel welcome in the museum. Our Volunteer team are always on hand to enhance the visitor experience.” Find out why we're an award-winning attraction Plan your visit Manage Cookie Preferences
