What's On Events Day in the Life Trail: Heritage Open Day On Friday 11 September, join us for FREE entry and a special Day in the Life Trail exploring the everyday lives of WW2 soldiers in celebration of Heritage Open Days 2026! With your free entry ticket, you get access to all of our permanent exhibition galleries, special exhibition With Spanners Descending, annual Sportsfest Family Trail and facilities including Crown’s Cafe, play park and gardens. As part of this year’s celebration, we’re joining in with the Heritage Open Days theme of Everyday Histories, exploring daily working life through the ages. For one day only, completely for free, we’re putting on a special trail that will take you on a journey through the daily lives and routines of REME soldiers during WW2. Explore the galleries, build your day in the life and find out at the end which soldier’s routine you’ve chosen to follow! Will you join us and make history part of your everyday?
